About Lila’s Classes

Most of our lessons are suitable for everyone (beginners, intermediate or advanced) – no experience is required.

There are demonstration classes for groups of 8 to 10 people maximum and hands-on workshops for 3 people max. (Dates & prices are specified on   “Book a classes”  (clic to see the schedule  )

For professionals, more advanced cooks with special requirements, we provide private one on one and small  hands-on workshop trainings (see our “Tailor made hands-on classes ”).

Each course lasts between three and a half to four hours and focuses on the content of the course chosen by Lila with the help of her students’ input. Different food items require different techniques and ingredients. Due to the time factor involved it is not easy to properly cover multiple items.

For example: If you choose to attend a class which focuses on the art of ‘Tarts’, Lila will teach you the basic techniques such as how to prepare and knead the dough for the base of the tart, how to make different types of fillings etc.. The possibilities are endless! – You can concoct different fillings for the base, such as a lemon or a chocolate ganache or you can even fill the base with custard & seasonal fruits! Depending on the final product, the cooking instructions can be varied. All of these will be explained to you by Lila in her class.

BOOKING PROCEDURE: FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED WITH YOUR BOOKING TO SECURE YOUR PLACE

  1. CALL OR E-MAIL ME your chosen class date.
  2. I will respond and CONFIRM AVAILABILITY.
  3. Once you have received confirmation, kindly MAKE PAYMENT via EFT into my account (no cash will be handled on the day).
  4. IMPORTANT: If making a cash payment through the bank please include  bank fees  as only efts are free of charge.

Please note, your booking is only guaranteed once payment has been received. Bookings are on a first come first served basis – Provisional bookings are not possible. Kindly read the cancellation policy below.

FOR RECONCILIATION PURPOSES:

Please email YOUR payment confirmation (NOT the bank’s) directly to [email protected] Your name and date of demonstration are required as a reference.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

In the unfortunate event that, for whatever reason, you are unable to make it to the course:

Three weeks before the course, you will be offered the choice of an appropriate alternative or a 60% refund.

After that, no refund will be given, but with at least a two weeks notice you may attend another similar course/workshop in lieu of.

Alternatively, you can send someone in your place or forfeit.

We apologise for any inconvenience – The above conditions are necessary as most of the ingredients are purchased and classes planned long in advance according to bookings.

In the unfortunate event that a demonstration cannot take place, you will be offered the option to choose between an appropriate alternative and a full refund.
